Data Officer

As a Data Officer, you actively shape the data-driven future of the Building Department and the Canton of Zurich. You take on a key role in the development and operational implementation of data management within the cantonal administration.

Your tasks:

• Development of data strategies and governance guidelines as leadership and control instruments
• Support and accompaniment of projects focusing on data competence and digital transformation
• Consulting and support of the offices of the Building Department in data matters
• Representation of the Building Department in committees as well as interdisciplinary collaboration with various stakeholders
• Establishment and maintenance of records management

Your profile:

• Extensive experience in the development and implementation of data strategies, data management, and data governance
• Degree in computer science (e.g., business informatics HF) or equivalent education
• Strategic thinking, high consulting competence, and persuasiveness
• Proven communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to develop viable solutions

About us

The General Secretariat (GS) is the hub between the six offices of the Building Department. In addition to central tasks in the areas of finance, IT, personnel, and communication, it is also responsible for statements on political initiatives, consultations, and the coordination of legislative projects. Furthermore, the employees of the GS handle supervisory complaints and appeals against decisions of the offices and against resolutions of the municipalities. Another area of activity is the implementation of environmental protection within the administration and the coordination of environmental impact assessments for large construction projects.
