Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, and quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
The Federation of Leisure and Meeting Centers (FCLR), an umbrella association grouping 48 associations of leisure centers, neighborhood houses, Robinson gardens, and adventure playgrounds in the canton of Geneva, is hiring a Federative Coordinator (female or male) at 90%.
The FCLR federates center associations, represents and defends their interests as well as those of their users, supports and accompanies volunteers. The FCLR team includes 4 coordination positions and 2 administrative assistant positions. https://fclr.ch/
Job opening for a 90% federative coordinator position at the Federation of Leisure and Meeting Centers (FCLR) on a permanent contract.
Job Description
Under the responsibility of the FCLR committee, and in shared coordination, you will:
- Participate in defining the federative policy,
- Coordinate the federation's actions, co-lead its commissions, and implement the decisions of the general assembly and the committee,
- Animate the network of member associations, compile, centralize information, and encourage cooperation,
- Value volunteers' skills, promote mobilization and empowerment,
- Support the committees of member associations and provide administrative, legal, organizational, and strategic assistance,
- Represent and defend the interests of member associations and the associative model with various partners such as FASe, Canton, Municipalities, unions…
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in sociocultural animation or in human, political, or legal sciences.
- Associative experience as a volunteer or in support roles
- A strong interest in sociocultural animation and civic engagement
- Critical thinking, analytical and synthesis skills, and writing abilities
- Documentary skills and mastery of regulatory frameworks
- Ability to work both collectively and autonomously
- Ability to act with integrity in a complex institutional environment
- Good listening, exchange, or debate skills, relational ease
- Good knowledge of the Geneva associative and institutional network
- Project management and communication skills
- Proficiency with common digital tools
- Availability to work variable hours including evenings and sometimes weekends
