Job Description
You will contribute to a broad range of activities across two major projects: Site Consolidation and Long Shutdown 3, within dynamic Civil Engineering sector from Site Asset Management Group.
The role involves close collaboration with engineers, technicians, and external contractors/consultants, ensuring the quality, safety, and timely delivery of various civil engineering works, including construction, renovation, and maintenance of CERN's diverse infrastructure.
Your responsibilities
- Managing and following up on work requests related to concrete, metal structures, building envelopes, roads/networks and other civil works for surface buildings, underground structures, and technical galleries.
- Launching and monitoring construction and renovation activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinating multiple trades to ensure smooth execution and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Performing regular on-site inspections and ensuring enforcement of CERN's safety rules.
- Conducting quality control checks and supervising contractors' daily activities.
- Verifying the proper execution of works and ensuring compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Managing budgetary aspects: reviewing quotations, launching orders, and validating contractors' final measurements.
- Using CERN's computer-based tools for project tracking, reporting, and documentation.

- Execution and/or supervision of structural and building envelope works.
- Maintenance and operation of buildings or civil engineering infrastructures.
- Proven experience in coordinating multi-technical trades.

Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
- You have a professional background in Civil Engineering (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Additional Information
Job closing date: 26.11.2025 at 23:59 CET.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Job flexibility: Fully Onsite
Target start date: 01-January-2026
