The Office for Youth and Career Counseling of the Education Directorate provides, orders, manages, and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counseling. The kjz Winterthur (Child and Youth Welfare Center) is a polyvalent counseling center for families, parents, adolescents, children, and toddlers and operates based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
The Youth and Family Counseling (JFB) of kjz Winterthur is looking for a social worker 60 - 80% starting November 1, 2025, or by agreement.
The Youth and Family Counseling (JFB) of kjz Winterthur is looking for a social worker 60 - 80% starting November 1, 2025, or by agreement.
As a guardian, you will conduct civil child protection measures, carry out child welfare assessments on behalf of the KESB, and advise families, children, and adolescents according to their mandates. The consultations cover a wide range of topics related to family organization, parenting, separation and divorce, visitation rights issues, and child protection questions. Great importance is placed on good and close cooperation with authorities, schools, institutions, and specialist agencies.
You bring:
- Training at a Swiss university of applied sciences for social work
- Experience in youth and family assistance as well as statutory social work
- Optionally, additional training in systemic, solution-oriented counseling
- Empathy for people in special life situations
- Negotiation skills
- Resilient personality
- Good written skills
