The Asylum Department is responsible for providing economic and personal social assistance to persons from the asylum sector. This includes the accommodation and care of asylum seekers, persons seeking protection, and provisionally admitted persons, as well as unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, the payment of social assistance, the integration process, and introduction to their new living environment.
We are looking for a
Social Worker Asylum 80–100 %
starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement, with the workplace at the initial reception center of asylum care.
Tasks
- Care of clients in the initial reception center with introduction to everyday life; especially of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers
- Provision of social assistance and ensuring basic medical care
- Support in social and professional integration
- Interdisciplinary cooperation with other specialist offices and authorities
- Environmental and house maintenance in cooperation with the clients
- Minor maintenance of the initial reception center
- Management of supply materials
- On-call duty
Requirements
- Training in social work (HF / FH) or comparable tertiary education
- Experience in the asylum or migration sector is an advantage
- Manual and technical skills
- Networked thinking as well as structured and solution-oriented action
- Resilient, independent, and flexible personality with high social competence
- Administrative and communicative skills as well as confident German
- Driver's license category B
