Social Worker 70 - 80% (m/f/d)
For the area of "Asylum Social Assistance for temporarily admitted foreigners and persons with protection status S (AVAS)" we are looking for a social worker to strengthen our dedicated 11-member team starting from 01.11.2025 or by agreement.
Your tasks
You will support temporarily admitted foreigners (F-VA) as well as persons with protection status S. You will work 1–2 days a week on-site in the municipality (workplace within the municipal administration) and 2–3 days in our office in Aarau. Our specialist assistants will support you with the administrative case processing.
Your tasks include in particular:
- Integration-oriented case management, counseling, and support for persons with status F-VA and S with measures for linguistic, educational, professional, and social integration, including referral to specialist agencies
- Calculation and disbursement of monthly asylum social assistance according to cantonal guidelines
- Application for situation-related benefits and obtaining cost approvals from the canton, foundations, or other institutions
- Introduction of the supported persons to the topic of "Housing", including conflict management and mediation in challenges of interpersonal coexistence
- Close collaboration with the municipality and the cantonal specialist agencies
What you bring
- University degree in Social Work, Social Education, or a comparable qualification (alternatively, many years of relevant professional experience will also be recognized)
- Flair for administrative processing as well as enjoyment of subject-specific clarifications
- Structured and efficient working style as well as good work organization
- Experience in counseling foreign-language individuals and dealing with authorities and offices
- Strong social competence, teamwork ability, humor, and flexibility
- Good PC skills and confident German in spoken and written form; additional languages are an advantage
- Driving license category B and willingness to be mobile (by public transport or car)
