The position is attached to the Operations Department . This department's mission is to ensure the stewardship and logistics necessary for the proper functioning of all HUG, in terms of catering, cleaning and disinfection of premises, and laundry hygiene. It also manages the sterilization service, the biomedical and equipment service, as well as Cressy-Santé. More than 1,300 professionals carry out their missions daily with constant attention to quality, a sense of service, and environmental responsibility.
The Catering Service includes seven kitchens and eleven catering units (brasserie, cafeteria-restaurant, café, sandwich shop) serving about 9,000 meals per day. This service's mission is to offer quality services and pleasant, friendly moments to patients, staff, and customers, through attentive service to the criteria of balanced and varied nutrition meeting high hygiene and flavor standards. The Catering Service also offers a catering service (banquets, aperitifs, etc.) on the institution's various sites. It also supplies meals to certain institutions such as IMAD. Throughout HUG, the Catering Service focuses on fresh products and local products labeled Genève Région Terre Avenir.
Job Description
The Catering Service is looking for a management control intern for a duration of 6 months. This internship is part of a continuous improvement approach to performance and cost control related to the production and distribution of meals.
Your main mission is to establish the full cost calculation of the different productions, notably using the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method.
You are also responsible for designing and formalizing economic and financial dashboards intended for monitoring and decision support.
Your activity involves strong interaction with the operational teams of the service, as well as the transport distribution and warehouse service, in order to collect and ensure the reliability of data related to the logistics chain.
You comprehensively document all calculations and procedures to guarantee traceability and sustainability of the results produced.
Qualifications
You are a Master’s student in management control, finance, and have solid skills in financial analysis, full cost calculation methods, and management tools.
You possess advanced skills in MS Excel (complex functions, pivot tables).
You demonstrate rigor in data processing and verification of their reliability.
Your analytical and synthesis skills to transform numbers into useful information for decision-making are an essential asset.
You are naturally autonomous and organized, comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
You have good interpersonal skills and are recognized for your written and oral communication qualities.
To be eligible, your internship must be part of your curriculum, i.e., planned in your study program, necessary for obtaining your degree, and accompanied by ECTS credits.
