With nearly 1,200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (DMA) includes anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care, and emergency services. It fulfills a fourfold mission through its services, which provide expertise in frequent interaction with all Geneva University Hospitals, thanks to a transversal platform, aiming to ensure the best possible patient care.
The clinical pharmacology and toxicology service guarantees and promotes, through clinical practice and training of health professionals, the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of drug therapy. Personalizing prescriptions is a key focus of the service, especially for vulnerable patients (children, elderly, psychiatric patients). The service is the regional reference center for pharmacovigilance. It also provides recognized multidisciplinary care in the field of pain. In all these areas, the service offers excellent teaching and research.
Job Description
Your mission alternates between supervising the various clinical pharmacology and toxicology consultations, namely the therapeutic and toxicological information center consultation, the pharmacogenomics and personalized therapies consultation, the gerontopharmacology consultation, and the psychopharmacology consultation.
Thus, the primary objective is to improve the management of complex drug treatments in at-risk patients and to personalize treatments (polypharmacy, drug interactions, adaptation to renal or hepatic function, adherence). You also participate in the various activities of the service.
You will work as a consultant for hospitalized patients as well as in outpatient clinical pharmacology and toxicology.
Qualifications
You hold a Swiss federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO). Furthermore, you have a specialist title in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology or equivalent training.
For non-French speakers, a European C1 level in French is mandatory.
Your excellent communication skills allow you to interact within a multidisciplinary team and with patients. You are autonomous, flexible, and committed.
Additional Information
Experience in clinical pharmacology, general internal medicine, or anesthesiology is highly desired.
