The Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva is recruiting a research assistant (80-100%) to work on two complementary research projects in psychopathology and clinical neuroscience, under the supervision of Dr. Matthias Kirschner and Dr. Mélodie Derome and under the direction of Prof. Stefan Kaiser.

Job description
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva benefits from a rich multicultural dynamic to which it contributes through its influence within the mandates it has set itself: teaching, research, and its partnership with the Geneva University Hospitals.The Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva is recruiting a research assistant (80-100%) to work on two complementary research projects in psychopathology and clinical neuroscience, under the supervision of Dr. Matthias Kirschner and Dr. Mélodie Derome and under the direction of Prof. Stefan Kaiser.
To successfully carry out two projects, the Department of Psychiatry is looking for a:
Research Assistant at 80-100%
The position is divided between two research projects involving patients presenting schizophrenia spectrum disorders. It will be based at Campus Biotech with research activities possibly taking place at various university and hospital partner sites.1. TRUSTING Project (international collaboration) (40-60%)
This project focuses on predicting relapse in people with schizophrenia spectrum disorders through language. For this, patients will use a smartphone application that records their language through exercises, aiming to observe variations over time using AI. Evaluations include:
- Questionnaires and clinical interviews (including PANSS).
- Review of audio recordings and AI errors.
- Prediction of relapse risk based on clinical variables.
2. Ambizione Project - Hearing Threat (40%)
This project concerns auditory hallucinations, particularly with negative emotional content, in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Evaluations include:
- Clinical questionnaires,
- Ecological momentary assessments (EMA),
- MRI sessions.
Main responsibilities of this position are:
- Recruitment and evaluation of participants (clinical populations and/or controls).
- Conducting structured clinical interviews and administering questionnaires.
- Management and monitoring of ecological and clinical assessments.
- Organization and participation in MRI sessions when required by the project.
- Data management, quality control, and adherence to ethical protocols.
- Logistical coordination of research activities between projects.
Required title and skills
- Master's degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive sciences, medicine, or related field.
- Experience with participants/patients and clinical assessments desired.
- Skills in collaboration with medical and care teams.
- Strong interest in research in psychopathology and clinical neuroscience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Fluency in French.
