Technical laborer - mechanical specialty at the CIT-S Directorate
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Security (CIT-S) of the CHUV is looking, for its workshop, for a laborer specialized in mechanical maintenance at a rate of 80% to 100%, starting March 1, 2026 or to be agreed upon.
Context
The University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, medical research, and education.
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Security of the CHUV (CIT-S) has as its main activities the operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical assistance, and consulting, within its vast real estate portfolio of more than 40 buildings on the main hospital site.
The three main missions of the Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Security (CIT-S):
- Construction and modernization: ensure the study and realization of architectural projects, as well as the renovation of technical installations.
- Operation: ensure the maintenance of all technical and biomedical equipment, as well as the infrastructures of the CHUV and its affiliates. Guarantee the production and distribution of fluids and energies necessary for all medical, research, technical, and administrative activities.
- Protection and security: ensure the protection of property and people.
Mission
Within the scope of your duties, you ensure the mechanical maintenance and operation of technical infrastructures of low to medium complexity, contributing to the continuity and safety of the CHUV installations.
Your main tasks are as follows:
- You ensure the operation and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment, locksmithing, blinds, and access control systems
- You diagnose breakdowns, carry out necessary interventions, and restore installations to compliance
- You perform inspection rounds of installations, respecting procedures, technical standards, and safety rules in force
- You participate in preventive and improvement maintenance of infrastructures to ensure their reliability and durability
- You contribute to the optimization of installations and propose technical improvements within your area of expertise
- You ensure the operation of the dosing station for detergent products
- You perform administrative tasks related to interventions, including entering activity reports and follow-up in the CMMS
- You apply and actively participate in the quality management system
- You collaborate with other technical trades in a spirit of versatility and service.
Profile
- You hold an AFP as a metal construction assistant, blinds practitioner, or an equivalent qualification in the mechanical or locksmithing field
- You ideally have some professional experience in a similar position (laborer, assistant mechanic, assistant locksmith)
- You have good analytical skills and know how to react effectively to common technical issues
- You are a versatile, autonomous, and rigorous person, appreciating concrete and operational work
- You demonstrate good team spirit and a sense of responsibility adapted to a hospital environment
- You master common computer tools (office software, intervention tracking tools)
- You master French, both spoken and written (minimum B2 level)
