About the job
The specialized Logistics department ensures the supply of the Bern cantonal police with material, equipment, and devices on time. It ensures the availability of intervention equipment and that the necessary resources are permanently accessible and in good condition at all sites.
Your tasks
- Manage stock throughout the canton of Bern, including inventory, goods receipt control, quality control, and organizing replenishment
- Ensure the availability of all equipment and gear at various sites (preparation, refurbishment, maintenance, and coordination of repairs)
- Provide logistical support to deployment forces during order services and internal events
- Coordinate equipment related to deployments for order service units during interventions and training sessions
- Organize, set up, and dismantle as well as technically manage audio and video installations during internal events
- Provide on-call services in the specialized Logistics area
Your profile
- Completed professional training, ideally in logistics, technical, or manual fields (e.g., Federal VET Diploma as a logistician or equivalent)
- Professional experience in stock management and good knowledge of SAP (inventory, item sheet, serial numbers, minimum durability date, etc.)
- Technical understanding of the use of equipment and devices (including audio/video installations) and affinity for the safe handling of weapons and ammunition
- Identification with the values of the Bern cantonal police: "integrity", "sense of responsibility", "together", "with respect", "care and precision", and "with heart"
- Autonomous, structured, and stress-resistant personality, with a strong service orientation and willingness to work irregular hours and perform on-call duties
- Category B driving license; additional categories (C/C1) and forklift license are an advantage
