The position is attached to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences . This department provides care to patients of all ages, children and adults, suffering from neurosurgical, neurological, ophthalmological, and otorhinolaryngological pathologies. Care is adapted to the needs and difficulties of the patient, from the most acute sectors (intermediate care units) to rehabilitation sectors (neurorehabilitation).
The department's goal is to guide patients towards regaining their autonomy through teaching, support, and outpatient follow-up. It ensures the operation of patients as well as their support to promote early return home. In the same spirit, outpatient care is also favored and surgical activity optimized to facilitate access to care within a reasonable timeframe.
Job Description
Two positions are available, one in acute care / surgery (90%), the second in acute care (70%):
For the first: acute care / surgery (90%)
You provide, under medical prescription, occupational therapy treatments for patients hospitalized in acute surgical care as well as outpatient patients in the orthopedics service, mainly in hand surgery.
You manage and update patient records by documenting interventions and clinical information.
You record and/or bill the services provided.
You establish therapeutic goals during interdisciplinary meetings (notably surgeon / physiotherapists and specialized occupational therapists).
You mainly perform individual treatments and occasionally lead information groups related to Total Hip Prostheses.
You participate in projects of the occupational therapy teams and the Surgery and Clinical Neurosciences departments.
This position requires flexible hours, with activity spread over 5 days, Monday to Friday.
For the second: the second in acute care (70%)
You provide, under medical prescription, occupational therapy treatments for patients hospitalized in acute care, mainly neurology and neurosurgery, but also various medical specialties: early rehabilitation, positioning, and preparation for return home.
You manage and update patient records by documenting interventions and clinical information.
You record and/or bill the services provided.
You establish therapeutic goals during interdisciplinary meetings (visits and/or conferences).
You mainly perform individual treatments.
You participate in projects of the Clinical Neurosciences Department and occupational therapy services at HUG.
This position requires flexible hours, with activity spread over 6 days, Monday to Saturday.
Qualifications
You hold a HES occupational therapist diploma or an equivalent recognized diploma.
You master basic computer tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
For the acute care position: You have an interest or clinical expertise in hand therapy (orthoses and rehabilitation), orthopedics, and early rehabilitation is a notable asset.
For the acute care / surgery position: You have an interest or clinical experience in Neurology, Neurosurgery, (Early Neurorehabilitation), prosthetics, and acute rehabilitation is a considerable asset.
You are autonomous and possess a significant capacity for flexible scheduling with a developed sense of priorities.
You know how to manage stress when faced with multiple simultaneous demands.
You demonstrate organizational skills, analysis, and synthesis of information.
You show dynamism, communication skills, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team (acute care / surgery) or multidisciplinary (acute care).
You have a sense of responsibility, initiative, and are reliable and flexible.
