The University Psychiatric Services Bern offer an exciting opportunity for a research assistant at the Center for Translational Research. Within the framework of an Ambizione project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) under the direction of Dr. Mélodie Derome, the study investigates how and why auditory verbal hallucinations with negative content occur in patients with schizophrenia. The goal is to better understand the underlying psychological and neurobiological mechanisms and thus promote new therapeutic approaches in the long term. The position is limited to two to three years and starts in March 2026 or by arrangement. Your tasks
- You recruit and examine patients with schizophrenia
- You conduct structured clinical interviews and questionnaires
- You organize and conduct assessments using ecological momentary assessment (EMA) as well as MRI sessions
- You ensure data management and quality assurance
- You coordinate research activities and logistics at the University Psychiatric Services Bern and at the Inselspital Bern
- Optionally, you have the opportunity to actively participate in research, e.g., in data analysis (behavior/neuroimaging), manuscript preparation and co-authorship, or by attending scientific conferences and meetings
Your profile
- You have a university degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive sciences, medicine, or a related field
- Ideally, you have experience in patient contact, clinical assessments, or MRI research
- You possess strong organizational and communication skills
- You are interested in the connection between clinical-practical work and research
- You must have fluent German skills in spoken and written form
