About the job

• Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls of the University Hospital Basel
• Answering internal and external general inquiries (opening hours, events, etc.)
• Forwarding calls from patients, medical practices, or external hospitals regarding health questions or clarifications
• Calling in on-call doctors, nursing staff, and other personnel on behalf of the departments within the University Hospital Basel
• Modifying data and maintaining the telephone system
• Setting up conference calls

• Completed commercial apprenticeship or equivalent basic training
• Experience as a telephone operator or call center agent is an advantage
• Good IT skills (Office applications) are required
• Fluent Swiss German and German skills as well as very good French and English skills
• Communicative, customer-oriented, and reliable personality
• Networked thinking, quick comprehension, and willingness to work in a lively 7-day operation with irregular shifts (07:00–21:00)
