Assistant Physician for the Traffic Medicine and Psychology Unit
The Traffic Medicine and Psychology Unit of the University Center of Forensic Medicine of Western Switzerland, attached to the Department of Medical Radiology, is looking for a 70% assistant physician starting January 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Located on the two hospital-university sites of Lausanne and Geneva, the University Center of Forensic Medicine of Western Switzerland (CURML) has a staff of about 240 collaborators whose activities take place within thirteen specialized units.
The Traffic Medicine and Psychology Unit (UMPT) is responsible for assessing driving fitness from a medical and/or psychological perspective, at the request of the competent cantonal authorities.
Mission
- You participate, under supervision, in driving fitness assessments at the various UMPT sites
- You work in collaboration with the psychologists of the UMPT
- You perform biological sampling for toxicological analyses
- You write expert reports co-signed by the unit's responsible physician
- You attend scientific seminars and undergraduate training courses in traffic medicine (in French and/or German)
Profile
- You hold a federal medical diploma or an equivalent title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO)
- You have one or more years of postgraduate training in forensic medicine or internal medicine or neurology or psychiatry. Holding an FMH title is desired but not mandatory; applications from beginners may also be considered
- You master the French language (minimum B2) and knowledge of German is an asset
- You are a precise, conscientious, reliable, responsible, attentive, and empathetic person.
