To develop further our customer base, ensure their success and to pursue new activities in the EMEA region, we are looking to grow our team of Application Scientists in Munich, alternatively Zurich.
In this role, you will work closely with our users by assuming an active, technical involvement in our sales and business development activities. You will engage with existing and prospective accounts, learn about both our market and customers and contribute to our mutual success.

Your Responsibilities
- Drive business growth by leveraging your deep technical, and optics and photonics domain expertise to build and expand customer relationships with research institutions and other client groups.
- Conduct market analysis and identify new business opportunities through customer acquisition and lead generation.
- Collaborate with product management to align business opportunities with product development.
- Represent Zurich Instruments at industry events to generate leads and build visibility.
- Provide application-specific (optics and photonics) customer support, including on-site test measurements and system integration.
Your Profile
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on optics and photonics. This is a hard-requirement.
- Definite interest and motivation (ideally experience) in business development, sales, or market development within a technical environment. This is a hard requirement.
- Broad knowledge of instrumentation and signal processing (lock-in amplifiers, PIDs, AWGs) with practical lab experience.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to travel internationally 30-40%.
