The Office for Financial Services is responsible for cantonal accounting. It supports decentralized accounting in all matters related to accounting and ensures uniform implementation. Furthermore, it manages the canton’s assets, is responsible for payment transactions, conducts the technical planning process, and prepares both the accounting annual financial statements and the cantonal financial publications. Additionally, the office manages the state financial and logistics applications.

Head of Cantonal Accounting (m/f/d)

What to expect
- You lead and further develop the team both personally and organizationally
- You take over the professional management of cantonal accounting and are responsible for guidelines, instructions, and the internal control system (ICS)
- You ensure operational business with your team – from general ledger, asset accounting, and subsidiary ledgers to the preparation of the annual financial statements
- You lead the cantonal treasury (liquidity, investments, loans, financing, bank accounts)
- You take responsibility in the accounting and financial management development program
- You participate in inter-cantonal expert groups
What distinguishes you
- You have a university degree in business administration, financial management, or a comparable qualification (e.g., certified auditor / controller)
- You have many years of professional experience in accounting and several years of leadership experience
- You know the structures and accounting of the public administration very well and bring HRM2 competence
- You have extensive SAP experience (FI CO) and are confident in handling data and IT systems
- You work in a structured, reliable, and independent manner and enjoy process improvements
- You communicate clearly, convincingly, and reliably and act with high integrity
- You possess strong self-leadership skills and take responsibility out of conviction
