You are a committed, innovative, and proactive personality and want to actively shape mobility from Zurich Downtown to the wild nature? Then you are in your element at SZU.
Our flexible trainee program starts on October 1, 2026. It offers you the ideal entry into the world of public transport. Over 12 to 18 months, you will be prepared for a demanding position at SZU in two modules. In the basic module, you will get to know the diversity of SZU and the railway world. You link strategic issues with everyday operations and gain a holistic insight into a technically oriented, future-oriented company.
In the advanced module, you work on exciting projects – depending on the chosen focus:
- Digital Transformation: Responsible for large, cross-departmental, and pioneering projects for SZU development.
- Market: Shapes the offer and quality for train and bus, further develops the company, and is responsible for marketing, communication, and sales.
- Infrastructure: Responsible for the planning and maintenance of our rail network and ensures the quality of our facilities.
These are your tasks
- You take responsibility for challenging small or partial projects.
- You participate in complex large projects.
- You support our specialist and management staff through comprehensive analyses and innovative concepts.
- You research strategically important topics and create meaningful reports and presentations.
These are your key competencies
- You are interested in public transport and its diversity.
- You are about to complete or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., engineering, computer science, data science) or business administration. Career changers with relevant professional experience are also welcome.
- You can think in networks, show initiative, and are strong in teamwork.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic environment and actively shaping change processes.
- You identify with our corporate culture.
- You have very good oral and written German skills (at least level C1).
