Company Description
The Réseau de l’Arc SA was created on January 1, 2023, following the takeover of the Jura Bernois Hospital SA. A local establishment firmly rooted in its region, it offers comprehensive patient care.
It includes two hospital sites located in Moutier and Saint-Imier, five Medicentres, and the Bienne Medical Center (Medizinisches Zentrum Biel). Its care offering is complemented by an ambulance network, two nursing homes (EMS), two radiology institutes, a center for physical and cognitive therapies, as well as a home hospitalization service.
Thanks to its multidisciplinary expertise serving patients, the Réseau de l’Arc offers high value-added medical services. With nearly 1,250 employees, it meets the medical and hospital needs of a population of about 80,000 inhabitants.
As part of its VIVA project, the Réseau de l’Arc has become the first fully integrated organization in Switzerland. The VIVA health plan is now accessible to a large part of the inhabitants of the Jura Arc, ensuring optimal and coordinated care.
Job Description
We offer an internship opportunity in internal medicine for a final-year student or a recent graduate wishing to gain practical experience in a hospital setting. This internship allows the development of clinical skills, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and benefits from structured supervision.
Main Responsibilities
Participation in patient care
Under the supervision of the medical team, the intern will actively contribute to the care of hospitalized patients. They will conduct medical histories, perform clinical examinations, and participate in the development of diagnoses and treatment plans. They will also assist in outpatient consultations and the management of internal emergencies.
Collaboration with the medical and interdisciplinary team
The intern will participate in daily medical rounds and attend service meetings. They will have the opportunity to exchange with various specialists and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. This collaboration will allow them to gain a broader understanding of hospital operations and refine their medical communication skills.
Skills development and learning
Part of the internship will be dedicated to training and deepening knowledge in internal medicine. The intern will have access to seminars, internal training sessions, and clinical case presentations. They will also learn to interpret complementary examinations such as medical imaging, biological tests, or electrocardiograms. Writing medical documents, such as reports and discharge letters, will also be part of the learning process.
Care management and organization
Alongside clinical activities, the intern will be encouraged to observe and understand the organization of care within the department. They will discover logistical aspects related to patient management and may participate in reflections on the continuous improvement of medical practices.
Qualifications
