The University of Bern educates over 19,400 students and employs more than 8,000 staff across around 150 institutes as well as the central division. It uses a highly diverse spatial infrastructure spread over approximately 130 properties for these activities. The Department of Operations and Technology is responsible for the efficient and economical operation of buildings.
The Facility Services division – divided into housekeeping teams, gardening, and logistics – ensures smooth and trouble-free building and university operations on site with its extensive range of services. To complete our three housekeeping teams, we are looking for experienced and motivated professionals who take pride and joy in providing professional and reliable services.
Tasks
- Ensuring the agreed standards for building operations (building cleaning, waste disposal, minor maintenance, building security, event management, small relocations, access systems, etc.)
- Proper operation of building technical systems and troubleshooting; especially in the Muesmatt housekeeping team with highly equipped laboratory buildings
- As a service-oriented contact person on site, receiving operational orders and concerns from users and independently resolving or forwarding them where possible
- Weekly on-call duty in rotation
Requirements
- Completed vocational training with a federal certificate of competence (EFZ) in the fields of building technology HVAC, electrical engineering, or facility maintenance. Further training desired.
- Experience in housekeeping for medium to large properties with sophisticated building technology
- Manual skills and high reliability in independent work as well as teamwork
- Good IT user skills with Office programs and building automation are an advantage; experience with ticketing systems and CAFM systems (Planon) is desired.
- High flexibility to cover the site-related operating hours in the housekeeping team
- Good German language skills, spoken and written
