We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring educator to join our dedicated Economics and Business Management team. In this role, you will do more than teach theory; you will help students decode the political, ethical, and environmental challenges of our time. By using creative teaching styles and fostering high academic standards, you will enable our diverse student body to become engaged global citizens, ready to navigate the complexities of the modern world.
Your role and responsibilities:
Academic excellence and teaching
- Teach International Baccalaureate (IB) Economics and Business Management at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL).
- Co-teach classes and collaborate closely with colleagues to share best practices and develop departmental resources.
- Ensure compliance with program rights and clear progression for each student under your responsibility.
Student assessment and progress.
- Regularly assess student progress through various formative and summative methods.
- Keep accurate records and clearly communicate results to parents and the humanities department.
- Maintain a genuine interest in students’ progress and well-being, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
Operational contribution
- Effectively manage teaching resources to support learning.
- Take an active part in the wider life of the school, contributing to the dynamic community of La Châtaigneraie.
Profile sought:
You will thrive in this role if you have:
- A university degree in economics and/or business management.
- Significant experience teaching economics and business management, specifically at the IB level.
- In-depth knowledge of current trends and debates influencing economics education today.
- Previous experience working in an international school environment.
- The ability to work fluently in English; a good knowledge of French is a significant advantage.
- High personal standards and a willingness to achieve the best possible outcomes for all students.
