The Goldau Nature and Animal Park annually delights around 450,000 visitors amidst an impressive rocky landscape and idyllic forests. On 42 hectares, around 100 European wild animal species live. Around 200 employees and many volunteers are passionately committed to nature and species conservation, education, and research – advancing the sustainable goals of the scientifically managed animal park.
Employee in Nature Promotion and Education (50%)
Start date: February 1 or by arrangement. Workload: There is the possibility that the workload will be increased to about 70% in the medium term.
Your core tasks
- Planning, implementation, and evaluation of the two one-week animal park camps in collaboration with the camp leader team.
- Professional planning and implementation of animal and enclosure signage in cooperation with the marketing team.
- Development and updating of teaching materials for teachers (worksheets, material boxes, and rallies).
- Planning, implementation, and evaluation of workshops and guided tours for school classes as well as training and coaching of part-time employees to conduct these offerings.
You bring with you
- Pedagogical training and/or many years of experience in leading children’s groups and school classes.
- Good biological expertise of the native wildlife.
- Experience in planning and leading camps with children and adolescents and ideally training as a J&S leader in this area. Experience as a camp leader or in caring for children and youth groups is an advantage.
- Organizational talent and structured thinking.
- First experience in team leadership is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of English and a second national language such as French or Italian is an advantage.
