Presentation
The UNISEP service (Safety, Health and Environment Unit of the University of Lausanne) ensures prevention, management, and coordination of safety, occupational health, and security issues within the University. It plays a central role in identifying and managing institutional risks, implementing prevention measures, and preparing for crisis situations. The service works closely with faculties, University services, and external partners (cantonal authorities, emergency services, etc.).

Your activities
Directly reporting to the University Management, the Director of the UNISEP service ensures the strategic and operational management of the service, composed of about 30 staff members.
In this capacity, he or she:
• Defines the vision and priorities of the service and leads its development in line with UNIL's strategic orientations;
• Manages and develops the service's human resources, as well as activity planning and budget management;
• Organizes and updates institutional prevention and risk management systems regarding occupational health, safety, and security;
• Coordinates the internal network of safety correspondents and strengthens inter-service collaboration on safety and occupational health issues;
• Provides expertise to the Management, faculties, and services on safety, prevention, and crisis management issues;
• Develops institutional skills in risk prevention, safety, and management of sensitive situations;
• Maintains and develops a network of external partners (cantonal and federal authorities, emergency services, partner institutions) and represents UNIL in relevant bodies;
• Contributes to the preparation and management of institutional crises in connection with the University's governing bodies.
Your profile
With a university degree (Master's or equivalent) and additional training related to safety and occupational health. You have proven experience in leading an entity within a large organization.
You notably have:
• Significant experience managing multidisciplinary teams;
• Solid experience in safety, security, or occupational health fields;
• Proven practice in crisis and risk management;
• Excellent knowledge of the legal and institutional framework related to safety and prevention;
• Ability to combine strategic vision and operational management.
A unifying and solution-oriented personality, you have excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical and decision-making abilities. You are comfortable communicating with diverse stakeholders and know how to operate in a complex institutional environment.
A good command of English (level B2) is expected.
