Presentation
The UNIL Human Resources Service provides significant support and professional expertise for all seven Faculties and the University Management. The Service is composed of six divisions, including the human resources management division. This division is structured into four human resources management units responsible for HR management and consulting for the entire University of Lausanne. The Service reports directly to the UNIL Management.
To complete its team, the Human Resources Service is looking for a human resources manager at 80% or 100%.

Your activities
Under the leadership of the HR management division head, you are part of a group of four human resources managers who, with their respective teams, make up the HR management division.
As a human resources manager at the UNIL Human Resources Service, you support the management of the needs of the assigned faculties or services in human resources management. In a spirit of service and respecting the values, policies, and regulatory framework of UNIL, in coordination with the different divisions of the Human Resources Service, the human resources manager advises the entities within the assigned scope, supports individual situations, and ensures the compliance of administrative acts processing, with the support of a team composed of an HR advisor and specialized HR managers whom he/she leads.
The concerned scope is: the Faculties of Arts, Social and Political Sciences, Theology and Religious Studies.
- Support and advise the faculties and staff within your scope in all aspects of human resources management (conflicts, mobility, occupational health, etc.).
- Ensure the quality and compliance of HR processes and services, ensuring respect for UNIL's policies, values, and regulatory frameworks.
- Be the reference person for your scope in managing sensitive situations, ensuring their handling and guaranteeing compliance with current standards.
- Lead and develop your HR unit by managing the team, fostering a constructive work climate, and supporting skills development.
- Actively collaborate with other divisions and internal/external partners to coordinate the HR function and ensure responses adapted to needs.
- Contribute to the animation of the HR management division and the Human Resources Service, participate in the evolution of HR policies and tools, engage in institutional projects, and represent the Human Resources Service in various working groups.
Your profile
Holder of a university Master’s degree in humanities or an equivalent qualification, complemented by a specialization in human resources (CAS or higher), you have 8 years of experience in a large organization, preferably in the public or academic sector.
- Excellent knowledge of labor law (CO, LPers-VD) and HR practices in higher education.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, listening skills, diplomacy, and ability to work in partnership.
- Proven leadership: ability to supervise, unite, and develop a team.
- Strong sense of public service, ethics, equity, and diversity.
- Excellent command of French and very good command of English (oral and written).
