Approximately 3000 children and young people are taught at kindergarten, primary, and secondary levels, and there is an extensive care offering. The school administrations are supported in their work by professional specialist offices from the school administration, such as the Special Education or Personnel departments. The Rapperswil-Jona school fosters a culture of high appreciation and is very concerned about good working conditions for all employees. The proven collaboration of the committees School Board, School Management, and School Leadership Conference contributes significantly to the high quality of the Rapperswil-Jona school.
As Head of Special Education, you report directly to the city council member for education and thus to the school president, and you are a member of the school management. In this role, you are responsible for the implementation and further development of supportive measures (including gifted education). You support the school administrations in the special education area and coordinate solution finding in challenging school career issues. Coordination and collaboration with external specialist offices are part of your work area. You lead various working or project groups and thus contribute significantly to the pedagogical development of the Rapperswil-Jona school.
In your area of responsibility, you ensure transparent and well-functioning processes, represent the school at various events, and work closely with the overall school principal. Together, you support the school president and school board in their leadership tasks.
You have a basic pedagogical education and a university degree in pedagogy or psychology and possess solid experience in special education. Thanks to your good communication skills, you succeed in conducting conversations purposefully and solution-oriented even in challenging situations. You have knowledge and experience in project management and in leading school and quality development. Loyalty and discretion are important to you.
