A specialized or social educator for Educational Spaces
The women-mother-child department is recruiting, from November 1, 2025, a specialized or social educator, at a 70% rate, for the educational spaces of the children's hospital.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and training.
The Women-Mother-Child Department includes the Gynecology, Obstetrics, Neonatology, Pediatrics, and Child and Adolescent Surgery Services. More than 1,500 professionals work within this department. We care for women throughout their lives on gynecological, obstetrical, and psychosocial levels as well as children from birth to adolescence.
For children and adolescents hospitalized within the university hospital city, the Children's Hospital has an educational space on each hospitalization floor and a space reserved for adolescents. The educational spaces are open Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, and Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Mission
- You ensure the support of patients during their hospital experience by offering educational and recreational activities and services
- You stimulate the biopsychosocial development of hospitalized patients according to their health status
- You carry out actions enabling socialization, support, and communication among peers
- You support families and relatives on a human and educational level.
Profile
This position is intended for a dynamic person with relational qualities and a sense of responsibility.
- You hold a Bachelor in social work (HES) or an equivalent recognized qualification
- You are a certified practitioner-trainer (PF) and/or workplace trainer (FPT), an asset
- You have experience in pediatrics, an asset
- You demonstrate motivation and aptitude for interdisciplinary work focused on patient needs
- You show interest in the development of the child and adolescent
- You are autonomous, proactive, reactive, and have organizational skills and a desire to be involved in project implementation
- You are flexible and able to adapt to fluctuating activity
- The salary scale is between 8 and 9 depending on the profile.
