The MSW is a training center of the city of Winterthur for technical apprenticeships in the field of mechatronics. Thanks to the combination of the three learning locations under one roof, theory and practice can be optimally coordinated. This comprehensive training enables apprentices to transfer to the university of applied sciences, and the MSW is an alternative to academic education. The MSW trains apprentices in the professions of polymechanics, automation, and electronics.
From March 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for a team-oriented personality to lead the Mechatronics Department. As a member of the school management, you will take responsibility for the vocational training of our apprentices in the professions of polymechanic, automation technician, and electronics technician and play a decisive role in successfully supporting the next generation of skilled workers on their path.
Your Tasks
- Technical and personnel management of the Mechatronics Department, including budget and personnel responsibility
- Further development and implementation of the overall strategy of the Mechatronics School Winterthur as well as leadership and participation in internal and vocational education-related projects
- Ensuring the training of apprentices according to the regulations of the industry associations and the MSW strategy as well as the development of training foundations
- Supporting workshop instructors in implementing training objectives and promoting cross-departmental collaboration with the vocational school
Your Profile
- Completed university of applied sciences degree in technology with business management further education, ideally supplemented by further education in school management, personnel management, and pedagogy or willingness to complete these
- Many years of experience as a leader, e.g., as a production manager, as well as solid knowledge in leadership and management
- Networked thinking and a cooperative working style
- Knowledge of political and administrative processes is an advantage
- Strong team skills, high resilience, great flexibility, and openness to new challenges
