Data Governance Senior Expert

Mission Statement:

Within the Hitachi Energy Data Governance Team, the Data Governance Senior expert serves as an enabler and solution provider for all data objects in Data Catalog and other data topics from both guidance and governance perspectives. This role encompasses techno-functional responsibilities in Data Governance applications, providing expertise in end-to-end Data Catalog configurations and setups for all the data objects.

As a Data Governance Senior expert for Data Catalog is responsible for implementing and managing data cataloging solutions to ensure that data assets are well-documented, easily discoverable, and effectively governed. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure that the data catalog meets those needs.

Your Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain Data Cataloging strategy, and roadmap for the Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Supermarket.

• Lead and execute the technical implementation of data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Data catalog, Data quality, Metadata management).

• Document data assets, including data sources, data lineage, and data definitions.

• Manage metadata to ensure it is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for data cataloging processes and configurations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data catalog configurations and usage.

• Stay updated with the latest features and updates of the data cataloging tool and implement them as needed.

• Collaborate with cross-business stakeholders, including data stewards, data custodians, and business users, to understand their data needs.

• Provide training and support to stakeholders on how to use the data catalog effectively.

• Gather feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the data catalog.

• Participate in data governance working groups and provide techno-functional input.

Your Background:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in relevant field.

• Overall Experience of minimum 10 years required in which minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in any of the Data Catalog tools i.e., Erwin, Collibra or Alation etc.,

• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and metadata management and knowledge of data modeling.

• Strong experience in data cataloguing, including data discovery, description, and organization, as well as the ability to communicate data findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Effective communication skills, initiative-taking and self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Good & Must needed experiences from different Systems like S/4 HANA, MDG or equivalent Data Governance/Quality tools etc.,

• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
