The University of Bern is among the top 150 universities worldwide. The Chair of Quantitative Methods in Business Administration represents the fields of Operations Research, Analytics, and Operations Management in research and teaching at the Department of Business Administration.
Starting February 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are filling a doctoral and assistant position. The research goal is the development of operations research methods for application in project management.
Responsibilities
- Innovative research in the field of Operations Research in Business Administration with the goal of completing a dissertation
- Participation in teaching at the bachelor and master levels
- Supervision of theses
Requirements
- Degree completed with very good results (university or ETH/TU) in economics, computer science, or mathematics with a focus on Operations Research
- Enjoyment of analytical thinking, scientific work, and academic teaching
- German language skills at level C2 and very good English skills
- Advantageous: knowledge of a programming language (e.g., Python) and optimization software (e.g., Gurobi or CPLEX)
