The Justice Execution and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich, as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of people who have committed crimes and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.

The Penal Institution (JVA) Pöschwies is one of seven main departments of JuWe and, with 399 places, is the largest closed JVA in Switzerland for men who have committed crimes. It fulfills a central state task and is responsible for the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public according to legal mandates.

In the area of Economy & Work, we are looking for an extremely flexible, resilient, and eager-to-learn personality with high social competence and an interest in the justice system, starting immediately or by agreement. This position is limited to two years.

Your Tasks

• You support our foremen in exciting and varied activities in the work operations
• You take on important safety, control, and supervisory tasks and ensure smooth operational processes
• You supervise and guide prisoners, promote their skills, and accompany them to various workplaces
• You prepare materials and conduct quality controls to ensure the flawless execution of work
• You ensure order and safety and create a stable environment for prisoners, employees, and external persons
• You actively engage and contribute to safety in emergency management

Your Profile

• You have completed a technical or craft vocational training
• You have several years of professional experience in the technical or craft field
• You bring experience in employee management and/or in the supervision of trainees
• You have very good command of German, both spoken and written; knowledge of foreign languages is desirable
• You possess solid IT user knowledge
• You are characterized by a quick grasp and willingness to familiarize yourself with new areas of responsibility
• You are a team player, very resilient, and have high flexibility
• You enjoy working with people and engaging in varied, changing assignments in different work operations of the JVA
• You are at least 25 years old
• You can provide a clean certificate of conduct
