The Office for Youth and Career Counseling of the Education Directorate provides, commissions, manages, and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counseling. The kjz Winterthur (Child and Youth Welfare Center) is a polyvalent counseling center for families, parents, adolescents, children, and toddlers and operates based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
The Educational Counseling Department of kjz Winterthur is looking for a psychologist with an employment level of 80 - 85% starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- You advise and support parents, persons with educational functions, and professionals on questions regarding the organization of family life and coping with challenging everyday and educational situations.
- Your support is primarily aimed at parents of children aged 0 to 18 years. You involve all family members as much as possible with the goal of promoting positive developmental processes and preventing developmental disorders.
- Within the framework of child protection, you work interdisciplinarily with social workers from youth and family counseling, mother and father counseling, as well as external specialist agencies.
- In cooperation with youth and family counseling, you conduct assessments for the KESB and courts.
Our requirements
- Completed studies in psychology or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in counseling parents and children as well as preferably additional training in systemic counseling
- Developmental psychological knowledge as well as knowledge of psychopathology in childhood and adolescence
- High resilience and initiative
- Team-oriented and interdisciplinary working style
- Very good written and oral communication skills
