The newly created Business Applications department as of August 2025 is responsible as a central service provider for application management and the further development of central business applications as well as for the continued digitalization of ZHdK’s business processes. In addition, we further develop ZHdK’s project management methodology, especially in the area of agile project management methodologies. For this purpose, we work closely with the Information Technology Center (ITZ), various departments and faculties, university development, and external partners.
To strengthen our eight-member department consisting of application managers, project managers, and process owners, we are looking for you immediately or by arrangement as
Application Manager and Project Manager HR and Finance Applications, 80 – 100%
ZHdK uses the SAP HR and finance applications operated by the Canton of Zurich, which have been specifically extended with ZHdK’s own peripheral systems.
In the role of Application Manager and Project Manager HR and Finance Applications, your responsibilities include:
- Application management (especially incident, problem, change, and release management) for the HR and FI applications within your area of responsibility
- Requirements engineering and support of the departments in business analysis
- Translating business requirements into specifications, supporting development during implementation, and planning and accompanying subsequent user tests
- Documentation of requirements, specifications, and solutions including operational manuals
- Consulting and training of (key) users in the departments
- Proactive requirements and stakeholder management through close and regular exchange with the departments (especially personnel and finance departments), the Information Technology Center ITZ, external partners, and the Office for Informatics (AfI) of the Canton of Zurich
- Strategic further development of the applications (roadmap) within your own area of responsibility in close coordination with relevant stakeholders as well as participation in the evaluation of new IT solutions
- Leading (sub-)projects including managing (sub-)project teams consisting of internal and external project staff
- Participation in projects, e.g., in the cantonal project Aurora for renewing the HR platform
- Participation in committees and professional platforms
We are looking for a personality with:
- Education in (business) informatics (university, ETH, FH, HF) with a focus on requirements engineering and/or business analysis as well as project management or comparable education and training
- Proven several years of experience in (IT) projects in the role of business analyst / requirements engineer and (sub-)project management
- Proven several years of experience in application management of SAP HR and possibly FI applications or at least many years of experience as a SAP super user; experience with SAP SuccessFactors is an advantage
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written form, very good mediation skills across all hierarchical levels, excellent German and good English skills
- Strong analytical skills, structured working style, curiosity, enthusiasm for innovation, hands-on mentality, teamwork skills, and high intrinsic motivation
- Enjoyment and willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics and work on several projects/topics in parallel
- Good knowledge of personnel and/or financial processes
