Caritas Switzerland manages a service that organizes and supports foster family placements. Caritas Family Placement is certified and approved by various cantons according to the Ordinance on Child Placement. Caritas Family Placement is committed to providing qualitative and sustained support to placed children as well as foster families, in a process of professionalization and skill development for foster families.
Your tasks
- Organization and support of foster family placements
- Recruitment of new families, support of the evaluation and authorization process
- Organization and facilitation of training days for foster families both in person and via videoconference
- Coordination of work and project management with the professional or social network surrounding the placed youth
- Support, advice, and coaching for foster families as well as placed children and youth
- Administrative work and financial monitoring of budgets for minors and foster families
Our requirements
- University of Applied Sciences diploma or Master’s degree in social sciences or equivalent diploma
- Interpersonal skills, listening ability, and capacity to work with complex situations
- Ability to act autonomously while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team and the network
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of professional experience in supporting children and/or youth, ideally in child protection
- Knowledge of the Geneva social environment
- Comfort in facilitating sessions (intervision and team meetings with foster families)
- Excellent command of spoken and written French
- Knowledge of German is a plus
- Proficiency with common computer tools
- Availability for some Saturdays per year
- Flexibility to work occasionally outside office hours
- Clean criminal record
- Driver’s license is a plus
