Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
The ATB is a sociocultural structure working with adolescents, pre-adolescents, and children in collaboration with network partners and specialized professionals. In addition to collective activities, the association has recently specialized in the social and professional reintegration of young people. Our multidisciplinary team implements innovative and creative projects to promote a positive image of young people, relay their voice, and participate in community life in the neighborhood.
A position for a 65% sociocultural animator is open at ATB Meeting and Activity Space for Adolescents.
Job Description
- Accompany and supervise groups of young people in their sociocultural activities.
- Open receptions, workshops, outings, camps, cultural and intergenerational activities.
- Ensure individual and personalized follow-up of adolescents and young adults, in collaboration with other team members and partner institutions.
- Participate in the design and implementation of educational projects promoting autonomy and reintegration of young people.
- Develop and maintain dynamic and trusting internal communication among the association's partners. Ensure the flow of information between the team, the committee, FASe, and City authorities.
- Be proactive in developing new activities adapted to the needs of young people.
- Assume administrative and management tasks related to activities, including supervising and monitoring the association's instructors.
- Promote the safety and well-being of participating young people.
- Lead integration workshops in partnership with institutions supporting young people in difficulty through cultural, manual, and sports activities.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university degree (education science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialized Educator (DEES), State Higher Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS). SEFRI recognition of DEES/DESJEPS must be obtained during the first year in the position and grants access to the maximum function class.
- Dynamic, autonomous, and able to assert professional stance with adolescents.
- Availability, openness to flexible and irregular hours (evenings and weekends).
- Driving license required.
- Strong interest in working with and supporting adolescents and young adults in social and professional reintegration.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and interest in multidisciplinary work.
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social system.
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor, and respect deadlines.
- Skills for networking work.
- Management of visual communication and publication on social networks.
