Caretaker (80 - 100%, m/f/d)

The Birsfelden municipal administration is a modern service operation that provides a wide range of tasks for around 10,500 residents.

To complement our team in the Department of Construction, Traffic & Environment, we are looking for a motivated and committed person as of February 1, 2026, or by agreement.

You will take responsibility for the preservation of value as well as the operational maintenance of the properties assigned to you. You work independently, actively contribute your ideas, maintain direct contact with the users, and represent the interests of the municipality. You will also lead a three-person cleaning team.

Your other main tasks are:

• Ensuring the operation and operational maintenance of the properties
• Including cleaning
• Supervision and maintenance of all technical systems
• Independent execution of minor repair work
• Responsible for opening and closing the properties
• Inspection of the outdoor area including necessary cleanliness and safety
• Taking on various services for the municipal administration such as mail service, posting notices, emptying mailboxes, organizing material purchases, etc.
• Training and supervision of apprentices as Facility Maintenance Specialist EFZ

For this position you bring:

• Completed training as a Facility Maintenance Specialist EFZ or equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional experience with in-depth knowledge of building management
• Structured working method as well as conflict and communication skills
• Independence, sense of responsibility, and a careful, efficient, and reliable working style
• Manual skills and good physical condition
• Category B driving license (car)
• Leadership experience, enjoyment of teamwork, and customer-friendly manner
• Trainer course and initial experience in training apprentices
