The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents is tasked with providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and addressing the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 16 years old. It works on developing cutting-edge services and specialty competence centers.
The pediatric specialties service provides care for hospitalized and outpatient patients in the following specialties: pediatric allergology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, pediatric nephrology and metabolism, pediatric pulmonology, neuropediatrics, exercise medicine and obesity.
Job Description
As head of clinic specialized in general pediatrics, you collaborate with the team of the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Unit and the Swiss Pediatric Liver Center. You mainly work in a hospital setting, with a weekly outpatient activity.
You manage resident doctors in their care activities, support them in following diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for hospitalized and outpatient patients entrusted to them, and contribute to their training.
This is an excellent opportunity to train in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition as well as in complex and chronic childhood diseases, with the aim of eventually deepening practice in private practice.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma, a specialist title in general pediatrics, or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
You possess an FMH in pediatrics and have several years of experience as head of clinic in pediatrics, pediatric surgery, or have experience as a senior resident in pediatrics, pediatric surgery, general surgery, or equivalent.
You have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva or are able to obtain it before starting your position.
For non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
You have organizational skills, a good team spirit, and are dynamic.
You possess excellent communication skills within a multidisciplinary team and with patients.
You are autonomous, flexible, and committed.
You enjoy managing rare and complex diseases.
Experience in hospital medicine is essential. Interest or experience in gastroenterology, liver transplantation, and digestive endoscopy is an asset.
