Intern for Field Surveys (m/f/d)
For the project TreeGD, funded by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), which investigates the genetic diversity of forest trees in Switzerland, the research unit " Biodiversity and Conservation Biology ", and its group " Ecological Genetics " from May 2026 offers two fixed-term positions for 2 months as
Together with other project staff, you will carry out the sampling of trees at forest sites throughout Switzerland. You will record site factors and collect leaf samples for subsequent DNA analyses.
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, environmental sciences, or an equivalent education. You have a good grasp and enjoy working outdoors, even under difficult conditions. If possible, you bring knowledge of tree species (species identification, site assessment). You work carefully and precisely and are a team-oriented person. You are flexible in terms of time and willing to stay overnight away from home on occasion. A category B driving license is necessary; language skills in German and French or Italian are expected.
