Your team
The Corporate Functions division encompasses the non-banking activities of the Pictet group and has more than 600 employees. Managed by specialists who have a thorough understanding of all business lines, the central functions are divided into various departments: Internal Audit, Communication, Compliance, Corporate Office, Finance, Taxation, Legal, Human Resources, Risk, and Information Security.
The Group Tax department, based in Geneva, is responsible for managing the Group's tax situation, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory provisions as well as the risk control framework, safeguarding Pictet's reputation, and maintaining good relations with various tax authorities.
The Group Tax is looking for a tax expert to join the Group Tax Office team, primarily responsible for managing strategic tax projects within the Group, risk management, and tax controls, as well as coordination in case of inquiries or audits.
Your role
- Participate in managing strategic tax projects by providing tax expertise on various aspects, including direct and indirect taxes (anticipated tax, VAT, stamp duty), transactional taxes, and withholding tax.
- Establish and conduct tax controls and audits, and issue recommendations based on their findings; follow up on the implementation of these recommendations.
- Conduct tax risk assessments and design risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure tax aspects are taken into account.
- Monitor developments in tax law and regulation.
Your profile
- University degree in law or economics.
- Five to ten years of experience in the field of taxation.
- Experience gained within a law firm or one of the four major consulting firms: an asset.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative.
- Analytical mindset, coupled with a willingness to solve problems, and the ability to challenge the status quo.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
- Fluency in French and English is essential; knowledge of German is a plus.
