About the job
Protection and Rescue unites the organizations Fire Department Thun, Civil Protection Organization Thun plus, and the regional command body Thun plus under one roof. All organizations operate regionally and are based on the militia system with over 550 members. A total of twelve employees ensure administration, operations and training planning, as well as logistics. We are looking for a
Your tasks:
- Reconditioning of used, damaged, or defective materials, vehicles, equipment, and units of Protection and Rescue (Fire Department and Civil Protection)
- Workshop work independently or according to instructions
- Inspection, testing, and maintenance of personal protective equipment
- Maintenance and upkeep of properties, subsidized facilities, and surroundings (heating, tank system, green area, snow removal)
- Collaboration in the regional fire training center RFA
- Independent control of vehicle readiness
- Logistical and personnel support during operations - Fire Department deployment (outside working hours also in militia activity)
You bring with you:
- Completed EFZ training in a craft-related field
- Basic fire department training and fitness for fire service including respiratory protection
- Personality with great independence
- Resilience and willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends or holidays, as well as during extraordinary situations
