Health and Social Assistants (AGS) accompany people of different ages who rely on support in everyday life. They work in retirement and nursing homes, homes for people with disabilities, hospitals, clinics, or with Spitex. They always work closely with medical professionals.
Tasks
- Daily care and support in everyday life
- Helping people dress and undress
- Providing personal hygiene care, washing, styling hair, shaving, accompanying to the toilet
- Applying skin lotions, bandaging legs, putting on medical stockings, and providing other aids
- Laying down and repositioning bedridden people
- Observing changes and reporting to medical staff
- Supporting people to have a structured daily routine
- Co-organizing activities and special events
- Helping with the intake of meals and drinks
- Accompanying people at the end of life
- Performing simple administrative tasks on the computer, such as filling out forms
