Job Description
Your responsibilities:
As an Industrial Drafter, the selected candidate will join the Design Office ( DO ) section within the EN-CV group, working exclusively on the Future Circular Collider ( FCC ) project.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the early design stages of CERN's next flagship accelerator, in close collaboration with EN-CV engineers and as part of a dedicated team. Here, you will be mentored by experienced FCC team members to help you developing your skills.
The Industrial Drafter will be involved in detailed technical design studies for the cooling, ventilation, and industrial piping installations of the FCC.
Main tasks:
- Produce Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), 3D models and drawings.
- Produce bills of materials (BoMs) for budget estimates.
- Contribute in preparing technical specifications.
- Review third-party drawings and 3D models and provide them technical guidance.
- Engage in design reviews with other CERN Design Offices to ensure proper integration of 3D models from different stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain Revit libraries (using Dynamo/VBA/Python).
Your profile:
Skills:
- HVAC process design and analysis.
- Water cooling process design and analysis.
- Production of 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineer/HVAC (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
Additional Information

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week
