With nearly 1,200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (DMA) includes the anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care, and emergency services. It fulfills a fourfold mission through its services, which provide expertise in frequent interaction with all University Hospitals of Geneva, thanks to a transversal platform, aiming to ensure the best possible care for patients.
The Anesthesiology Service is a transversal service of the HUG at the heart of the technical platform. With its 7 medical units and a research and innovation unit, its mission is to ensure the comfort and safety of patients during therapeutic or diagnostic, medical or surgical procedures, as well as during post-interventional care, while ensuring proper pain management.
The largest center in Switzerland in terms of the number of interventional acts performed annually, the Anesthesiology Service is at the forefront of progress made in this field. The service also provides pre- and post-graduate and continuing education for nurses and doctors in specialized training. As a service provider, anesthesiology also intervenes in the field of interventional pain management and in life-threatening emergency situations both intra-hospital and pre-hospital alongside the Emergency Service.
Job Description
As part of your role in the Anesthesiology Service, you participate in patient care in collaboration with a large team of nursing and care assistant staff within the operating rooms or in the post-interventional care units.
You assist the patient with hygiene care or other daily living activities.
You ensure the maintenance and cleaning of anesthesia equipment and devices according to the hygiene rules in force at the HUG.
You guarantee the refurbishment of anesthesia SAS, specific procedure baskets, and stocks between surgical interventions.
You also manage the stocks of common materials used by the staff of the Anesthesiology Service.
Qualifications
You hold a professional training certificate (AFP) as a care assistant or a care assistant certificate and you have a perfect command of the French language both written and spoken.
You have at least two years of experience in a hospital environment, ideally in acute care (emergencies, operating rooms, intermediate care, intensive care, etc.).
Autonomous, you have a sense of priorities and good stress management skills.
You perform the tasks assigned to you with precision and rigor.
You are interested in technology and have good physical endurance.
Your good knowledge of the HUG as well as your adaptability are real assets for working within a large multidisciplinary team.
