Medical Secretary for the Closed Psychiatric Care Unit for Minors
The Department of Psychiatry at CHUV is looking for a Medical Secretary at an 80% activity rate, for the closed psychiatric care unit for minors (USPFM) in Prilly, on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for July 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.

Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
The Closed Psychiatric Care Unit for Minors (USPFM) is a hospital structure that offers interdisciplinary treatment in a secure setting to minors aged 14 and over, residing in French-speaking Switzerland. It provides medical and psychosocial services including therapeutic, educational, and pedagogical components, under mandate. With a capacity of 10 places, this mixed unit ensures full-time supervision, both group and individualized, aiming at the rehabilitation of the young person into society over several months.
Mission
- You ensure the maintenance of medical records for hospitalized patients
- You handle the creation, proofreading, and correction of various documents
- You manage the follow-up of medical information requests
- You update patients' administrative and insurance data
- You contribute to the smooth running of the secretariat
- You receive and process mail
- You create and update various dashboards
- You plan and organize sessions
- You participate in the integration of new unit collaborators
- You ensure the reception of families and external partners
- You manage telephone calls
- You welcome and guide unit users.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least 3 years of experience in autonomous medical secretarial work
- You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written (a foreign language is an asset)
- You have excellent mastery of common computer tools
- You have a service-oriented mindset and appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team
- You demonstrate empathy, flexibility, and excellent organizational skills
- You ideally know the functioning of Vaud state structures and parapublic bodies related to psychiatry.
