Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a DCS Engineer who is meticulous, a team player, and proactive to join our Technical Services department, based at our biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical production site in Bulle, Switzerland.
About the Role
The mission of the DCS Engineer is to perform programming, testing, and documentation activities, participate in projects as a Subject-Matter Expert in Automation, and handle maintenance of automated and computerized production systems.
Work environment
- Report to the Automation Manager and work in a team of 10 people, within the Automation team consisting of 18 members.
- Be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, with a positive and solutions-oriented mindset allowing for knowledge sharing.
- Participate in improving the quality of life of our patients.
Your Activities
- Carry out programming activities, system maintenance, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
- Handle DITs (technical intervention requests) by applying best practices in analysis, programming, and verification.
- Contribute as an automation expert to the execution of technical projects.
- Manage and prioritize routine activities while ensuring continuity of production operations.
- Coordinate and support the technical activities of external resources involved in DITs and projects.
- Ensure the document life cycle (writing, verification, approval, regular update) for all project or routine activities.
- Handle deviations, investigations and CAPA (corrective actions and preventive actions) at the technical and documentation level.
- Actively participate in the production support plan (“On Call”) according to the annual plan, ensuring ongoing availability (24/7/365) of automation expertise.
Interested? For this position, you must possess the following education, experience, and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation/Computer Science or equivalent.
- Over 5 years’ experience in DeltaV programming.
- Pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience preferred.
- Familiarity with administrating DCS or MES systems would be an advantage.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Fluent in French and English.
