About the job
The Stiftung Leben im Alter Herisau is home to over 250 elderly people. At the three locations Heinrichsbad, Ebnet, and Dreilinden, around 260 employees shape everyday life in our houses. They ensure a high quality of life for the residents and thus make a valuable contribution to society. It is important to us to offer employees a working environment in which they are satisfied and to which they always like to return.
The "Park – Café, Restaurant, Hall" combines stylish ambiance with a cozy atmosphere. Our restaurant with around 100 seats and a large sun terrace spoils guests daily with fresh menus and homemade desserts. The offer is complemented by a hall for events and banquets.

Your demanding and varied tasks:
- You independently manage your own service station, handle the cash register, and ensure a smooth service process according to our quality and operational standards.
- You take care of our residents and guests in a friendly and attentive manner, create a pleasant atmosphere, and provide competent advice on the selection of food and drinks.
- You support banquets, special events, and internal events and contribute to a professional appearance of our gastronomy area.
- You independently prepare mise-en-place tasks and ensure a clean, well-organized workplace.
- You perform general cleaning and tidying tasks and consistently comply with the applicable hygiene and safety regulations according to HACCP as well as our internal standards.
Our requirements:
- You have completed training as a restaurant specialist or a comparable qualification; several years of experience in the service area is an advantage.
- You enjoy working with elderly people and treat them with respect, patience, and appreciation.
- You are a reliable, flexible, and resilient host personality and work independently, carefully, hygienically, and responsibly.
- You actively contribute to the team, support your colleagues, and gladly share your knowledge.
- You are willing to work regularly on weekends and public holidays and have very good German language skills in speaking and writing as well as an understanding of Swiss German.
