Chief Resident (Deputy) Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service
The Department of Psychiatry is looking, for May 1, 2026, for a Chief Resident or Deputy Chief Resident for the Mobile Psychiatry and Early Intervention Unit of the Western Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAO), at 80% – 100%.
👉 Do you want to practice field clinical activity, close to patients, in an innovative and recognized mobile psychiatry model? Join a committed team at the heart of the Vaud socio-health network.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Western Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAO) is a recognized (A1) institution for FMH psychiatry and psychotherapy.
The Mobile Psychiatry and Early Intervention Unit works with patients from 16 years old presenting a mental disorder for which usual outpatient care is insufficient.
It is aimed particularly at people:
- in the initial phase of mental disorders
- requiring specialized assessment in their living environment
- refusing care or denying any problem
- whose home maintenance is fragile
- not ready to accept outpatient follow-up after hospitalization
The multidisciplinary team intervenes at home or in the community. It relies on the resources of patients and their relatives to strengthen the skills of the existing network rather than replace it.
The goal is to initiate or restore psychiatric care in cooperation with relatives and primary care providers, for people having difficulty engaging in a therapeutic process.
Mission
- You assume clinical supervision of the multidisciplinary team (nurses, social workers) in all its activities and clinical programs (TIPP program, SIM program)
- You carry out direct clinical activity within the framework of investigations and care
- You actively promote inter-institutional collaboration with network partners and maintain links with other mobile teams in the canton
- You contribute to postgraduate training and participate in on-call duties or service shifts.
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy, or equivalent, or are in the process of obtaining it (title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions – MEBEKO)
- You have a strong interest in general psychiatry and interdisciplinary work
- You have solid experience in outpatient care of psychiatric patients
- You are able to work in a team and share your knowledge
- You master French (minimum B2 level, certificate required for non-French speakers).
