The position is attached to the Prevention, Security and Safety Directorate (DPSS). The mission of the DPSS is to prevent harmful events and protect people and property, in order to ensure the continuity of care. Its tasks are to identify and analyze risks, to conceptualize and apply appropriate prevention and protection measures; to intervene in case of incidents and finally, to prepare crisis management and coordinate the continuity of care activities.
To achieve this, the DPSS is structured into three specific sectors: the engineering sector, the fire and RBCE sector (radiological, biological, chemical, explosion), and the operations sector.
Job Description
The security and safety agent position being advertised is in the operations sector. DPSS agents are sworn state officials with authority powers.
Your activities include protecting patients during their hospitalization if their situation or condition requires it. You also protect HUG staff when confronted with violence and incivility and assist medical staff in case of a break in the therapeutic relationship. If necessary and under medical supervision, the use of physical restraint in a proportional manner may be required.
You are also responsible for preventing and combating malicious acts (verbal or physical violence, intentional damage to infrastructure and equipment, etc.).
Additionally, you contribute to fire prevention and intervene in case of fire outbreak, in coordination with the fire and RBCE sector. You support and facilitate the interventions of security and emergency forces (Police, SIS, 144) and are able to provide first aid.
Qualifications
You hold a Federal VET Diploma in a technical or commercial profession. Ideally, you have a federal certificate as a professional security agent or you have training/experience that can be considered equivalent.
You have at least 5 years of experience in the security field (army, police, private security). Previous experience in a hospital environment is an asset.
For Swiss nationals, you have completed your mandatory service (civil or military) or are subject to the exemption tax.
You are in perfect physical and mental condition.
You are able to manage complex and difficult situations. You are a rigorous person and demonstrate perfect self-control and a keen sense of responsibility and priorities.
You master French orally and in writing and have a good general knowledge. Oral knowledge of other languages is an asset.
Obtaining the certificate of success in the basic French test organized by the University of Geneva is essential.
You demonstrate courtesy, discretion, tact, and negotiation skills in your interactions with others.
You have a clean criminal record and are unknown to the police services.
You have no criminal record and are not subject to prosecution or default actions.
You hold a category B driving license and are not subject to a license withdrawal.
Passing physical aptitude, psychotechnical, physical condition tests, as well as the psychological interview at the Police and Security Professions Training Center (CFPS) is required.
Proven skills in intervention tactics and techniques (TTI) are an asset. TTI notably includes:
unarmed defense techniques,
application of restraint means (handcuffs),
handling of the tactical baton.
Proven skills in first aid and tactical first aid are an asset.
Note that:
All the selection criteria mentioned above may be subject to a specific evaluation.
Wearing the tactical baton is mandatory, as well as passing the required exams to obtain the weapon carrying permit necessary for its use.
