The Office for Youth and Career Counseling (AJB) is part of the Education Directorate and is responsible for child and youth welfare, as well as career counseling. It provides various counseling and support services centrally and decentrally at different locations in the canton of Zurich.
On behalf of schools, the AJB, Regional Office School Social Work Winterthur and Andelfingen, is responsible for the personnel, professional, and administrative management of school social workers. To ensure a low-threshold school social work service, the workplaces are located in the individual school communities.
For the primary school Henggart, we are looking for a school social worker 50% starting August 2026.
Areas of responsibility
- Low-threshold counseling services for students
- Counseling and support for teachers
- Individual case assistance, group and class interventions
- Prevention and project work
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor in Social Work at a university of applied sciences
- Further training or additional education in the field of school social work or youth/family work
- Experience in counseling children, adolescents, and parents as well as skills in child protection
- Ability to work with various population groups
- Competence in developing and implementing projects
- Personality with strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with professionals from various fields, authorities, and parents
