Tafers is the German-speaking main town of the Sense district in the bilingual canton of Fribourg. The General Internal Medicine department at the Tafers location consists of the inpatient ward where (from September 2025) about 46 beds will be used to care for inpatients with all kinds of internal diseases. In addition, a day clinic is attached to General Internal Medicine, where patients are treated on an outpatient basis. There is also an interdisciplinary on-call service. In total, about 1,000 inpatients and 10,000 outpatients are treated annually, with a continuously increasing patient volume observed.

To strengthen our team, we are therefore looking for a

Deputy Chief Physician or Chief Physician

80–100 %

Your tasks:

• You ensure high-quality patient care in the inpatient department.
• You supervise the activities and training of senior and assistant physicians as well as junior assistants.
• You participate in teaching bachelor and master students in human medicine at the University of Fribourg.
• You teach within the framework of medical further and continuing education.
• You contribute to the development of departmental and quality improvement projects.
• You participate in the on-call service.

Your profile:

Federal medical diploma or recognized foreign diploma

• Specialist title: General Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine, or equivalent
• Doctorate, or willingness to obtain one. At least three years of experience as a senior physician or deputy senior physician
• Training in management or experience in leading a department is an advantage
• German or French with very good knowledge of the other language
• Motivation to contribute to a good working atmosphere, enjoyment of exchange with colleagues
