Karting Event Operational Coordinator (Geneva - Switzerland)
Join the FIA and contribute to the successful execution of our global karting strategy. In this newly created role, as the Karting Event Operational Coordinator, you will be the "face of FIA Karting on track," ensuring the operational success and high-level execution of international championships across the world.
As a Karting Event Operational Coordinator, in this newly created position you will play a central role in bringing race events to life, managing the interface between organizers, officials, suppliers, and the FIA. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance with FIA standards while managing stakeholder relationships and representing the organization on-site during the A&D Continental and World Cup race events, as well as the forthcoming FIA E-Karting Championship
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ON-SITE EVENT MANAGEMENT
- Serve as the primary FIA contact point on-site for organizers, service providers, partners, and suppliers, representing management when necessary.
- Oversee and lead the physical and visible preparation of venues, including paddock installation, hospitality setup, and the systematic installation and removal of FIA branding.
- Manage practical operations during the event week, acting as the central problem-solver for teams, drivers, officials, and parents.
- Coordinate the FIA Karting team on the ground and act as the primary bridge between the local organizer and the FIA Karting administration in Geneva.
- Facilitate and manage VIP visits, special guest protocols.
ORGANIZER MANAGEMENT & EVALUATION
- Conduct pre-event venue visits and lead pre-season kickoff meetings with all international organizers.
- Coordinate technical requirements with equipment suppliers, broadcast partners, race control providers, and officials' representatives.
- Lead post-event evaluation meetings to report on stakeholder performance and improve future methodologies.
- Support the Event Administrative Coordinator with entry validation and ASN communications to ensure a seamless link between office preparation and on-track execution.
SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS: SHOOTOUT & EXCELLENCE CENTERS
- Plan and execute the full lifecycle of the FIA Karting Shootout, including communication, promotional material, entry management, and judge panel logistics.
- Identify and confirm suitable host venues globally for FIA Karting Excellence Center programs (targeting one per continent).
- Coordinate physical requirements for educational programs, including karts, tools, training facilities, catering, and hotels.
- Liaise with FIA Commercial on partnership opportunities and manage registrations for qualified ASN drivers.
PROFILE:
- 5–10 years of professional experience in motorsport event management.
- Proven track record as a Championship Coordinator or Sporting Coordinator within an ASN or professional racing series or motorsport promoters.
- Strong experience of motorsport operations; Karting experience is highly valued, experience in other motorsport disciplines is welcomed.
- High level of resilience and the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities under strict timelines in a high-exposure environment.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential: additional languages are an advantage.
This position is based at the FIA offices in Geneva and requires extensive international travel (10–12 events in Year 1, potentially growing to 15 events annually from year 2).
